
The Publications Committee is responsible for ensuring the quality, rigour and programming of the work produced by Publicacions URV. The committee is chaired by the member of the URV Management responsible for publications and it is made up of the head of publications, a management representative and a member of the academic staff from each of the scientific areas defined by the Catalan University Quality Agency (humanities, social sciences, sciences, life sciences, medical and health sciences, engineering and architecture).
Its functions are to:
- Advise on:
- The quality of the manuscripts received in response to calls for publication.
- The launch of new collections and the creation of new calls for publication.
- The acquisition of new manuscripts and the tasks of promotion, dissemination and sales.
- The preparation and implementation of the programme of publications.
- Guarantee the scientific, literary and editorial rigour of the URV's publications. This means ensuring that they comply with all requirements stipulated by the external evaluation mechanisms for research and teaching.
- Be aware of all editorial agreements and contracts that the University may enter into, in order to:
- Ensure best practice regarding editorial exchanges.
- Ensure that editorial resources of URV Publications are used correctly, in good condition and correctly stored.
- Make proposals to improve the editorial processes of URV Publications.
