The Language and Publications Service is the URV's technical unit for language policy. As such it administers the plans and actions established by the university's governing bodies and by its Language Policy Committee to work towards Catalan being the University's language of normal use whilst also promoting polyglotism and multilingualism. It is also responsible for the URV's university press, Publicacions URV, which disseminates the URV's research and teaching to all areas of society.
Translation and correction
- Correction of texts in Catalan, Spanish and English, and translation between these languages
- Management of the correction and translation of texts in other languages
- Response to language and terminology questions in Catalan, Spanish and English
- Drafting and publication of institutional language criteria and resources for the language needs of the university community
Certificates
- Official exams to certify knowledge of Catalan: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C1-PDI, C2 and Catalan Legal Language
- ACLES exams to certify a command of English: B2 and CLUC
- Students can certify their command of English, French, Italian, and Spanish for foreigners by passing the corresponding courses

Language planning
- Drafting and application of language policy plans at the URV
- Management of programmes and plans of the URV Language Policy Committee
- Supply and analysis of sociolinguistic data applicable to the URV
- Participation in interuniversity language policy programmes and plans

- Publication of the collections produced by Publicacions URV
- Publication of journals by Publicacions URV
- Management of the programmes and actions proposed by the URV Publications Committee
- Technical consultancy in publishing for the entire university community

CIFALC (Comissió Interuniversitària de Formació i Acreditació Lingüístiques de Catalunya)
Agrupa els serveis lingüístics de les universitats de Catalunya per coordinar la formació i l'acreditació lingüístiques, amb elaboració d'exàmens comuns de català i d'anglès.
Comissió de Llengua de la Xarxa Vives d'Universitats
Aplega els serveis lingüístics de totes les universitats de l'àmbit lingüístic català per cooperar en política lingüística universitària.
Grup de Treball de Publicacions de la Xarxa Vives d'Universitats
Reuneix totes les editorials universitàries de l'àmbit lingüístic català i s'encarrega de difondre'n les publicacions.
