
The Publications Committee is responsible for ensuring the quality and rigour of the works produced by URV Publications. It is chaired by the member of the Management Board responsible for publications and it consists of a member of the academic staff from each of the scientific areas defined by the AQU (humanities, social sciences, sciences, life sciences, medical and health sciences, engineering and architecture), a management representative, and the head of publications.
The committee’s functions are to:
- Provide advice on:
- The quality of submissions to publication calls.
- The launch of new series and the creation of new publication calls.
- The acquisition of new submissions and the tasks of promotion, dissemination and sales.
- The development and implementation of the editorial programme.
- Ensure the scientific, literary and editorial rigour of publications. This means that it will oversee compliance with all requirements of the external evaluation mechanisms for research and teaching.
- Be aware of all editorial agreements and contracts that the University may enter into, in order to:
- Ensure sound policy for editorial exchanges.
- Ensure that URV Publications editorial stock is used and in good condition and; where appropriate, decide on where it should go.
- Make proposals for the improvement of URV Publications' editorial processes.
