The URV's language policy has the following aims:
- To work towards the normal and preferential use of Catalan as the URV's own language.
- To increase the polyglotism of URV members and promote multilingualism.
This language policy is explained in The URV's Language Policy Plan, approved by the Governing Council and put into practice by the Language Policy Committee, the representative body, and the Language and Publications Service, the technical body.
The URV's language objectives are aligned with those of the whole Catalan university system, represented by the Language Policy Committee of the Interuniversity Council of Catalonia. The Catalan Government aims to achieve these language objectives by providing the INTERLINGUA grants. Likewise, the Vives University Network also undertakes joint actions relating to language policy.
